Things I do for Others &
At the same time for me.

Current & Past Experience

I grew up learning to live under the principles of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and Derech Eretz (respect). My
first time attending the Exeter Jewish Community (EJC) helped me realize that these values followed me to Exeter. However, my role in this new Jewish community was different. Here, I had opportunities to introduce my classmates - some of whom had never been to a Shabbat service or Passover Seder before - to new, and now shared, traditions. Our Rabbi often reminds us that together we can create a space to stop focusing on achievements, and find peace and comfort away from our struggles. As Jewish, Muslim, Christian and atheist classmates joined us for Shabbat, I learned that this type of space formed an unlimited and welcoming community. As I head off to college I will carry these experiences with me, and hope to be a part of shaping this type of community.

Altruism through

Athletics & the Arts

I see myself weaving my love of horses and music into service with local children. Volunteering at Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center was a natural extension of my dedication to horses. Greenlock provides equine therapy for young children with significant motor, developmental, and emotional differences. The instructors showed the riders how to hold the reins, use their strength, and take control of their horses. This accomplishment was gratifying: for the riders, and for me to watch. The nonverbal communication with the horse allowed the children to finally open up and talk with the instructor and me about their school days, friends, and even how they felt at that moment.

I will continue this type of service work. Though I have not yet had the opportunity to share my love of music with students in this way, I believe that music will provide a similar sense of comfort. Mentoring young singers will provide the opportunity for me to share my passion for singing with aspiring young students. I hope to learn and discover alongside these children while intersecting my passions for riding and music through service.

Activities: Welcome

"I love to play my guitar and sing to reduce stress. I will share my global family’s traditions, like sipping yerba maté, and hope to learn new traditions that my suitemates bring from their homes."
